about

Slew pools more than a decade of studio works spanning compilations issued by RRRecords, Tzadik, Alku, Realization, Digital Narcis, Self Abuse, Cuneiform and other groundbreaking labels. More than a compilation of compilation tracks, Slew documents the evolution of an artist dedicated to an immersive world of sound and aural vision. Bringing together many out of print and hard to find gems, Slew blurs the bounds of electro-acoustic, digital musique concrete, drone, noise, dark ambient and industrial. Dimuzio’s sonic reworkings range from an Elvis impersonator (on parade), junkyard ambiance, electric guitar, piano, voice, clarinet, feedback and shortwave sounds to cellist Tom Cora and the music of Dr. Nerve. Also featured is a new bonus track constructed from Dimuzio’s locked-groove submissions for the releases RRR-500 (RRRecords) and LockERS (E.R.S.).

“Intermittently brilliant and rarely less than entertaining.” — Peter Marsh, BBC

“ ...Slew is filled with tracks that demand full attention— even during their quietest moments, instances which tend to gently shimmer to a scalding boil. (rated 8.2)” — Pitchfork Media

“ ...an enjoyable listening experience into the worlds of sampling-based sound art and organized noise.” — All Music Guide

“ ...Dimuzio is easily at his best when creating "drones", or when exploring the "elementary details" of an evolving situation.” —Clouds And Clocks

“ ...reminiscent of similarly generated "Music from the Hearts of Space" on radio station KPFA in the 1970s.” — Leonardo
